Recovery Incentives Program: California's Contingency Management Benefit

Made in conjunction with the UCLA Integrated Substance Use and Addiction Programs Training and Implementation Team, California Department of Health Care Services, Q2i, and sites participating in the Program and filmed and produced by Nick Noyes with Show the Good.

The 5-minute video includes several personal statements about the impact from both providers and participating members and highlights the importance and meaning of the Recovery Incentives Program.

Seattle tries new approach for treating addiction - gift cards

“It’s not an all or nothing type situation,” he said. “If you screw up or if you have a hot [urine analysis] the demeanor of the people that are working with us doesn’t change because of it. They’re very interested in what it takes to fix this problem.”

- A participant in a pilot program which offered gift cards in exchange for reducing alcohol use. 

This video showcases a successful contingency management program designed for American Indian adults to address alcohol and other substance use. The program was a collaboration between the Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes and Washington State University.
